The meeting time was 10.30am. Someone knocked into my car from the back while I was waiting at the traffic red light on the way to pick Misato-chan, not sure if it’s a car or a bike, but I later confirmed that my car was unscratched *shrugs*. Apparently both Misato-chan and I arrived earlier and I picked her up at 10.20am. Yay we still have our Japanese virtue instead of being late all the time like typical Malaysians LOL
Went straight to Seng Thor Coffee Shop and as expected, the whole surrounding area was full of parked cars and we had a hard time finding a place (found an illegal one just outside the police station XD). Shared a large bowl of Loh Mee with one additional Loh Nui (marinated egg).
When we asked for another set of utensils, they provided us not only an extra bowl, but filled with gravy as well! How nice of them.
Walked down along Kimberly Street and told Misato-chan about life at this old town when I was still living there. Strolled through the morning market and had Char Koay Kak and Hong Kong style Chee Cheong Fan.
Pictureタイム~
Headed to 1st Avenue, bought fish earrings to go with my shirt, managed to pressure Misato-chan into buying a pair too by constantly repeating “…fish! …fish! …fish!” *evil laugh*
Cute stalls.
Watched Spidey The Amazing Spider-man, 12.45pm show. One comment for Mr. Garfield, アゴが出てるよww
Had Oden after the movie. Musubi ito konnyaku, cabbage rolls, daikon.
Tried Stick Arts, along with everyone else who made it look like a big hype.
Misato-chan has tried laksa and chendul so we skipped those today. (Slightly) late lunch at Kafe Fountain. Boiled chicken, Koay Teow Th’ng, chicken feet (picture by Misato), 3-layer milk tea, and ais kacang. VERY AWESOME.
Oui~ Coffee, tea, or moi? XD
As we passed through the small streets and lanes, we saw many people taking pictures with/of the 3D wall mural paintings. Of course we joined in the fun LOL
Then there’s the Rescube too.
After parking the car at a surprisingly empty multi-storey carpark which offers free parking on Sundays, we trekked Little India as well. Tried Indian desserts, this is also my first time not just for Misato-chan.
I liked the yellow one much more than the chocolate-coloured one (no it’s not exactly chocolate-flavoured, it’s more like… well it’s a bit too interesting for my taste). Wanted to visit the museum at The Sire, but I didn’t know that the museum's only open during lunch hours (>_<). Passed by Peranakan Mansion, closed too LOL Well actually I think Misato-chan can just check my previous visit’s posts here haha.
Some interesting stuff.
Misato-chan from the back^^
Stopped by Church Street Pier. Got to see ferries, and Penang Bridge, from far XD
Ming Xiang Tai for black bean taufufah with ginger+brown sugar syrup, egg tart, chicken siew pao, and salted egg+lotus paste pastry.
It was raining quite heavily outside while we were having these wonderful Chinese pastries, but thank goodness it became way more tolerable when we were leaving.
Koay Chiap for dinner.
Tried to show ourselves wearing our same fish earrings :-)
Chinese traditional desserts.
Me trying to show the fish earring together with the shirt, and… eating my sweet peanut soup.
Misato-chan took a lot of my pictures, and I didn’t even help her take one. I feel so bad now T_T
It was about 9.00pm when we’re done with everything. I dropped Misato-chan at Gurney Plaza to get a cab back to Batu Ferringhi while I drive home to Bayan Lepas in another direction. Have I mentioned that all expenses today including all food, movie, car petrol, and parking fees totalled up to less than RM40 per person? Isn’t Penang awesome!?
美里ちゃん、楽しい一日ありがとうね!
