Upon reaching the office, I signed the contract without reading. When I finally read through the contents on the contract I’ve signed, I just felt like crying – I was required to work on Sabbaths. I kept rehearsing in my mind on how I would explain to my boss that I cannot fulfil this requirement and was ready to have my wages cut in order to free myself from working on Sabbath. To my surprise, he agreed immediately and had the contract amended without even cutting my wages.
- During the interview few months ago, I was told that I would be stationed at a construction site over at Butterworth. I prefer to be on-site rather than sitting in the office as I can gain more experience, but crossing the bridge to Butterworth seems to make the journey super long, petrol and toll fees are at my own expenses. Today, the site I was brought to is on the island itself, and a place I’m super familiar with!

My mom actually wanted me to apply for another company but I somehow applied for this current company, and mom’s not happy about it at all. Yet it turned out that my current company is actually working on that company’s project so it’s basically the same.
- When introduced to my supervisor, I just couldn’t believe it – he graduated from the same university as I am in now, which technically makes him my senior!

I am the only girl at the construction site. All the guys there are used to talking and acting rough towards each other, but they try their best to talk nicely to me and apologized when they accidentally blurted out profanity. I appreciate their kind consideration.

My supervisor told me he will let me off early so I will not have to be stuck in the jam when everyone else ends work. My super old car really needs that favour, I’m worried that the old engine would heat up during traffic jam and cause problems.

I now hold the site office key, it makes me feel important. And although the site office still does not have electricity supply (since this project merely started less than a month ago), everything will be set up (including air-conditioning system) in 2 days time.
Around the site.
I want to enjoy this internship period as much as possible. Thank you for your prayers and please continue to pray for me.

If you don't mind me boring you out with my entries then just follow away~
